Description
Join us on a hike as we explore a late afternoon in January together! We will wander the trail near the Wapsipinicon River, through lovely oaks and woodland forest to see, hear and smell what winter brings us. There are always many wonders to enjoy as we immerse ourselves in woods amidst this winter season. Expect to experience a variety of flora and fauna along the way. We will share an impressive view of the river from the bluff above it. Limited group size so register early.
The parking lot is located near the shooting range at 200 Range Road (formerly 3716 Matsell Park Rd) Central City, IA 52214. Red Oak Trail is 1.25 miles and is used to access Red Oak Cabin. This trail starts near the shooting range and traverses upland red oak woodlands.
Cost: $2/child 16 and under or $5/ adult, pre-registration required.
