The apple season will soon come to a close, but until then you may still be finding yourself with lots of apples on hand! Here are two easy, fun and healthy recipes to make with the kids.

Apple Chips

Ingredients
  • Your favorite apples!
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Thinly slice apples. They can be peeled or not, depending on your preference.
  3. Lay apples slices on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for about one hour, flipping the apples over halfway through baking. The total baking time will depend on thickness of apple slices.
  5. Let cool and eat!
Enjoy them plain or sprinkle with cinnamon or a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Dip in your favorite yogurt, peanut butter, or Nutella or even drizzle with a bit of caramel.

Apple Fruit and Yogurt Cups

Ingredients
  • Apples large enough to scoop out and fill with fruit
  • Lemon juice
  • Your favorite flavor of yogurt
  • Fruit (pears, grapes, berries, etc.) cut in small pieces
  • Optional: granola
Directions
  1. Cut the top off of the apple.
  2. Using a spoon or melon baller, scoop out the inside of the apple to make a cup.
  3. Lightly wipe inside of apple with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  4. If apple doesn’t sit flat on surface, cut a little of the bottom to make it even.
  5. Fill with your favorite yogurt and fruit and sprinkle with a little granola. You can even eat the cup!
