Here is a fun recipe by another MK Publisher Gena Morgan! Enjoy!
My kids LOVE pizza and my hubby &I are sick of eating the same old pizza. I adapted a recipe I saw a recipe in a magazine that used toasted hamburger buns for the crust of individual pizzas or "pizza burgers" to fit my family and you can, too! This is one of our favorites when the kids are out of school!
Yummy Mini Pizzas
1 lb ground meat (can be beef, sausage, chicken or turkey)
italian seasoning
1 cup pizza sauce
pizza toppings
mozzarella cheese
hamburger buns
Brown meat in skillet with italian seasoning. While meat is browning, split hamburger buns in 2 halves. Butter each half and toast on griddle or skillet.
When meat is no longer pink, add pizza sauce and warm until heated through.
Put buns toasted side up on a cookie sheet (I usually top with foil to make clean up easier!) and put 1/4 cup of meat on each bun. Add toppings like you would for any pizza and top with cheese. Our favorites are mushrooms, peppers, banana peppers, pepperoni and onions! You can add whatever you like! Make everyone their own!
Once your pizzas are assembled, melt cheese under boiler for 2-4 minutes.
They are sooo yummy! It only takes about 15 minutes, but you could save time by browning meat and preparing toppings ahead of time!
