Turkey Craft

Gobble Gobble!

November 18, 2010

This craft my daughter and I did together at the  Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids.  I have to give a shout out to them because they really have a great program for pre-schoolers, and it was so much fun!  This particular class was "Turkey Talk" and this is the craft we did!

You will need:

Glue

crushed leaves in different colors

dried milk weed pod or small pine cone cut in half

rubber band for the gobbler

piece of dried corn for beek

construction paper

Trace your child's hand on construction paper.  Using a paintbrush, paint glue filling in all the fingers you traced.  Sprinkle on crushed leaves~ we "tried" to do each finger a different color...but anyway would be pretty.  Glue piece of corn for a beek on you milk thistle or pine cone along with piece of rubber band for your gobbler.  Then glue the whole piece onto paper as the turkey's body! This really is one craft I have on my fridge enjoy!
