Womens Personal and Professional Safety Classes

October 17, 2014
This year, tens of thousands of Americans will report being assaulted.  Millions more will find themselves in potentially dangerous confrontations.  Personal and Professional Safety for women presents a comprehensive and systematic approach to feeling in control in a world that sometimes seems out of control.  From early prevention to last-ditch physical resistance, this class gives you the tools you need to deal effectively with situations ranging from uncomfortable to life-threatening.

It is the goal of this Personal and Professional Safety program to leave you with self- confidence; the assurance that comes from knowing that you are equipped to face an emergency.  This program is being offered through the concerns of Cedar Valley Outfitters.

This program is presented in two parts.  The first night is Tuesday,  6pm to 9:30pm and will discuss middle ground self-defense.  Part two will be Thursday, 6pm to 9:30pm and will be hands on – and is very physical.  You must attend part one in order to participate in the physical training.  You may participate as much or as little as you want Thursday night.

The instructor for this program is Christopher M. Smaby, training specialist for the Cedar Rapids Police Department and chief instructor for the Japan Karate Association of Iowa.
