More about TIES:
Are you struggling to raise one of your children? Do you find yourself in a constant battle? Have moments of glory and then others of doubt and worry? As every parent knows, some children are harder to handle than others.  Sometimes referred to by experts as difficult, high spirited, or challenging, these temperaments can become much easier to manage with the right guidance. Exhausted and at the brink of giving up?
You have a great resource right here in Cedar Rapids available to you for FREE. A program at St. Luke's Hospital which teaches parents how to solve problems in a positive way.

TIES~ Teaching Interventions to Empower and Strengthen Families

There is no cost to families to participate in the TIES program.  TIES, an early intervention program that targets children six years and under. During these program sessions, parents are trained to work in a classroom as a way to actively practice their skills they are learning.  It is staffed by both professionals and parents who have completed the program with their own children.

Here are a few of the many reasons parents come to TIES:

Aggression
Mealtime problems
Bedtime and sleeping issues
Running from adults
Destruction of property
Tantrums
Separation anxiety
High activity level
Non-compliance
Trouble at school

Read what some TIES Parents are saying!

"Before TIES I felt like nothing I did was working.  It made me feel like I wasn't a good mother because I couldn't control my own son.  Now that I have been attending TIES I feel more confident about myself and being a mother.  I know we still have a long road ahead of me, but now I have the confidence to take that long road." - TIES Parent (June, 2009)

"My child has shown a lot of improvement, and is listening better.  He has shown a lot less destruction, better listening skills.  I feel more confident in dealing with (TIES child) as well." - TIES Parent (January, 2010)

"I am so grateful I found TIES.Wow what a great boy I have!  I now have the life I wanted with my son and family.  I am loving it!  We've come a long way, thank goodness I committed to TIES." - TIES Parent (October, 2009)

"Wow what a change that has happened in our house.  It has been amazing.  I am so thankful to have gone through this program.  It truly has been life changing." - TIES Parent (July 2010)
